Vicki Brooke
Project Director
Vicki
Brooke has been a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University
(VCU) and working in the field of employment for people with disabilities
since 1979. She earned her M.Ed. from VCU in Special Education with
an emphasis on employment. Vicki has served as principal investigator
for many personnel training and technical assistance grants and
contracts using innovative formats, to include distance education
technologies. She is the Associate Director of Training for VCU's
Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Workplace Supports
funded by the national Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation
Research as well as the Project Director for the U.S. Department
of Education's Work Incentives Transition Network (WITN), and the
Social Security Administration's regional technical assistance center
on Benefits Planning Assistance & Outreach. Most recently, Vicki
served as the guest editor for a special issue of the Journal on
Vocational Rehabilitation that is exclusively devoted to a business
perspective regarding the employment of people with disabilities.
Vicki Brooke is interested in all aspects of employment related
issues and concerns which impacts the employment rate and advancement
of people with disabilities. She is frequent speaker, consultant,
and author of numerous book chapters, journal articles, newsletters,
and fact sheets in all areas of employment. |
