Region IV BARC Technical Assistance Liaison & Trainer
Laura
Coffey has over 4 years of experience in employment services for
people with disabilities. She is the Program Manager for Goodwill
of North Florida, overseeing the Benefits Planning, Assistance,
and Outreach project (BPAO), VR placement services, Ticket to Work,
and three Job Junction centers covering 8 counties in northeast
Florida. In her relatively short tenure in the employment services
arena, Laura has developed a high level of technical expertise in
regards to the Social Security work incentives. Laura also serves
as Trainer and Technical Assistance Liaison for SSA Region IV with
Virginia Commonwealth University's Benefits Assistance Resource
Center. In this capacity, Laura provides work incentive training
technical assistance and consultation to all SSA funded Benefits
Planning Assistance and Outreach (BPAO) and Protection & Advocacy
for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS) projects in Florida
and Georgia.
Before
joining Goodwill and the VCU-BARC team, Laura honed her management
skills in the retail and hospitality industries. She has been a
trainer throughout her varied management positions. Her experience
in the private sector included eight years of retail operations
at various Marriott hotels and resorts. Laura is a graduate of East
Carolina University. |
