Jennifer Todd McDonough
Region 6 Technical Assistance Liaison & Trainer
Hello!
My name is Jennifer McDonough and I have been with the center for
about 4 years. I received my Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling
from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University
and my Bachelor of Arts from East Carolina University. After completing
my degrees, I began working for the Center as an employment specialist
on a grant called Project Access. This project worked specifically
with individuals with significant physical disabilities. In this
position, I assisted individuals in locating positions that best
matched their skills and abilities. In addition, I helped them identify
any assistive technology that they might need to perform their job
tasks. When the Project Access grant ended, I began work on the
RRTC Workplace Supports grant as a Training Associate. In this position,
I travel to conferences and speak on disability issues, as well
as write newsletters, fact sheets and articles for the center's
web portal. Recently, I began working as a trainer and technical
assistance liaison for the Benefits Assistance Resource Center (part
of the VCU-RRTC). I provide training on Social Security work incentives
and technical assistance to Benefits Planning Assistance and Outreach
projects in Social Security Administration Region VI (NM, OK, LA,
TX, & AR).
