*The
1619(b) program applies to SSI. It is not a program for individuals
who receive Medicaid through the local Medicaid agency without SSI
entitlement with one exception. That exception is the few individuals
who were receiving Medicaid under 1619(b) when their entitlement
to or an increase in a Title II benefit caused them to become ineligible
for SSI. These rare individuals have the 1619(b) earnings limit
if they receive Medicaid through this specific door. Everyone else
is subject to the earnings limit of the particular Medicaid category
to which they are entitled. For more information about which groups
exist in your state, please contact your local Medicaid agency.
For
more information about the few folks who may access the 1619(b)
state threshold when receiving Special Medicaid, see BARC the Briefing
paper: Special Medicaid Beneficiaries, Vol. 10 June, 2003.
