Receiving Intensive Benefit Support
Only
one major difference emerged between the benefit groups in terms
of reasons beneficiaries gave for seeking services in the first
place. The results suggest that SSI beneficiaries were nearly
twice as likely as the other two groups to cite anticipated
or actual changes in financial or life factors as a reason for
their service request. Across all three groups, not working,
but considering employment was the most frequently given reason
for requesting services, followed by both consideration of a
change in employment status in recipients who were currently
working and anticipated changes in other financial or life factors.
