Beneficiaries Anticipating Change in Employment Status

Nearly two thirds of the beneficiaries who received intensive benefit support specified their intent to increase their employment status in the future, by either seeking a new job or increasing working hours at a current job, and over 20 percent anticipated that they would pursue education or training for future jobs. While the I & R/Problem Solving group was consistent with these general trends, with nearly half intending to increase their employment status and nearly 20 percent intending to pursue education or training, a larger percentage of these beneficiaries had not yet made a decision about their anticipated changes in employment status. Relatively few individuals in either group indicated some intention of decreasing their current work hours or ceasing employment altogether.
